THE ESTATE TELLS YOU ABOUT IT
- Description : Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white wine commune in the southern Côte d'Or. The Meursault "Goutte d'Or" is the first 1er Cru to be found as you leave the village towards Puligny-Montrachet. This parcel is said to have been so named because of the numerous flints that make up its composition, flints with the shape and colour of "golden drops". This wine is exactly what you would expect from a Meursault wine. Powerful on the nose, rich on the palate, Meursault "Goutte d'Or" was Thomas Jefferson's favourite wine.
- Vinification & Maturing : Traditional fermentation in oak barrels, 100% malolactic
- Aging : 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new
- Barrels : Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
- Tasting notes : Our Meursault 1er Cru "Goutte d'Or" has a pale gold colour with an intense nose of coconut, brioche and vanilla. It is full and round on the palate with fresh notes of citrus and chlorophyll.
- Food and wine pairing : Bouchée à la reine - quasi de veau - pike - morels - cheese
