Commented by Lisa Perrotti-Brown on March 29, 2019: "Deep garnet-purple in colour, the Marquis d'Alesme Becker 2016 jumps out of the glass with gregarious notions of plum jam, crème de cassis and Black Forest cake with notes of potpourri, star anise, menthol and tapenade. Full, rich, firm and grainy, with a fantastic freshness that lifts the dense palate, it has a long and beautifully fragrant finish".
