Tasted by William Kelley in 2021: "The 2018 Maranges 1er Cru Le Clos Roussots is richer in clay than the Clos des Rois, and Perrault uses slightly less whole clusters for this vintage. Showing notes of blackcurrant, small berries, rich soil nuances and black truffle, it is quite powerful and muscular, with a fleshy core of fruit and plenty of ripe structuring tannins. It has rounded out in the year since I last tasted it."
