Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1972
Pauillac - 2ème Grand Cru Classé
- Cellaring : Drink now
- Tasting : This is an attractive Pichon Comtesse, with a ripe, spicy, caramelized, mature and complex bouquet. The sweet, delicate and spicy flavours have good concentration. The wine is quite pleasant and can be drunk now.
Château Pichon Lalande vineyard: The large 100 hectare vineyard of Château Pichon Lalande has set itself the target of being planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. This shows a marked and continuing increase in Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been maintained at 45% for decades, and a decrease in Cabernet Franc, as well as Petit Verdot and obviously Merlot in the vineyard, which was previously planted to 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.
