Beaune-Grèves 1er cru 2013 - Chanson
Chanson Père et fils
91/100 Wine Spectator
Tasted on May 31, 2016: "Tasting note
Smoky black cherry notes permeate the rich texture of this harmonious red. Everything is in its place, showing a fine, mineral finish and good grip. Drink it from 2018 to 2030.
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir, half massal selection planted in 1955 and 1962, and clonal planted in 1990.
Soil: The term "grèves" being derived from "graves" explains this terroir composed essentially of a very sandy soil and more silty on the bottom.
Location: The largest Cru on the central hill of Beaune. This very sunny terroir, on the hillside, matures very quickly.
Vintage 2013 : After a very cold winter, a cool and rainy spring, the summer really started at the end of July. The heat and the sun allowed the grapes to ripen gently in good conditions. The harvest began in mid-September under a beautiful sun. These climatic conditions associated with meticulous vinification and careful maturation give wines of great aromatic purity and very crisp. Aged in oak barrels for 17 months.
Tasting : Beautiful bright ruby color. Aromas of black cherry with notes of infusion and spices. Concentrated and refined. Well balanced. Very nice aromatic combination. Elegant tannins. Good persistence.
Food and wine pairing : Veal fondant with chanterelles. Caramelized pig's trotters with forgotten vegetables
