Description of Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru :
"Grancey" was the name of the last owners of the Castle located on the road of Cortons, before the Latour family bought it in 1891. This wine is exclusive to the House of Louis Latour. It is a blend of four climats of Corton Grand Cru of Domaine Latour: Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves and Clos du Roi, whose proportions may vary according to the vintage. The average age of the vines is over 40 years. After separate ageing, only the best barrels are blended to create "Château Corton Grancey" which is only produced in the best years.
Vinification & Maturing : Traditional fermentation in open vats, 100% malolactic fermentation.
Ageing: 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 35% new
Barrels: Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting : Our Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru is a very fine wine, with supple tannins, superb aromatic depth and infinite length on the palate.
Food/wine pairing :
Boarlet with black cherries - duck à l'orange - roasted quails - grilled rib of beef - mature cheeses
