Gevrey Chambertin 1994 - Louis Latour
Latour from the estate
Tasting note: The Gevrey-Chambertin is deep and round with notes of marzipan on the nose and finish. It is slightly open with aromas of raspberries, cherries and forest mushrooms. This wine will certainly develop its complex bouquet in the coming years.

Description : Located about ten kilometers from Dijon, Gevrey-Chambertin is one of the very first wine-producing villages of the Côte de Nuits. In 1847, Gevrey was the first village in the Côte d'Or to add the name of one of its grands crus to the village name: Gevrey-en-Montagne then became Gevrey-Chambertin. Planted exclusively with Pinot Noir, we find the whole hierarchy of Burgundy appellations: to the north the premiers crus and to the south the grands crus. The village appellation is concentrated on the piedmont. The shallow, reddish-brown, chalky and stony soil gives the red wine of Gevrey-Chambertin power and body. A great classic of the Côte de Nuits!
