Château Fleur Cardinale 2019 Surf Edition - Magnum and the box
Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Surf Edition - Sold with its collector's box set
95/100 James Suckling
"On the nose, a beautiful clarity of crushed red fruits, dried flowers, and sliced oyster mushrooms. Full-bodied, it presents ripe tannins and juicy fruit notes. Notes of chocolate and walnuts emerge, accompanied by hints of vanilla bean. Beautifully crafted. 76% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink after 2025."
The Château Fleur Cardinale 2019 Collector's Box Surf Session Edition is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé presented in a limited edition of 1,500 magnums, hand-numbered and housed in a silkscreened wooden case. This edition is distinguished by its artistic design created by graphic designer Lisa Wieland, which revisits the estate's coat of arms in a surf and Polynesian style, featuring surfboards, hibiscus, coral, and nautical tattoos. Behind this creative packaging lies a great wine made primarily from Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French oak barrels to express the full richness of the 2019 vintage, marked by contrasting climatic conditions that were favorable to the ripening of the grapes.
Upon tasting, this vintage reveals a dark and brilliant color, a vibrant nose of red and black fruits blended with notes of licorice, chocolate, and violet. On the palate, the attack is fresh and generous, the tannins are silky, and the finish is long, creamy, and persistent. Already accessible in its youth, it nevertheless has excellent aging potential until 2037. More than a wine, this box is a collector's item combining aesthetics and refinement, ideal for both the cellar and a special occasion.
