RATING : (92 - 100)/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2017 - 2030
Tasted by Neal Martin on June 30, 2017: "Angelus 2007 has a truly gorgeous bouquet of black cherries, crushed strawberries, orange blossom and cedar notes that contain much more energy than many of its peers. The palate is very lively and nicely structured right from the start. The acidity is very well balanced and the silky, slightly spicy finish exudes effortless charm."
TERROIR
The Angelus style is the marriage of a bold grape variety with an exceptional terroir. It is this unique character born of the southern slope of Saint-Emilion and its high proportion of Cabernet Franc that we like to find over the vintages. It is a composition reorchestrated each year, always in search of excellence.
Château Angélus 2007 is composed of a blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc.
SERVICE
Château Angélus should be served at a temperature of 15°C, in a red wine glass of the "Bordeaux" type. The ideal quantity is 15 cl.
For wines that have not been aged in barrels, decanting is not necessary. Aeration in a carafe is recommended when the wine is young and has been aged in oak barrels. For older wines, it is preferable to decant them a few hours before serving them. This can also be done for young wines in the context of aeration.
