By Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "Garnet-brown in colour, the 2000 Angelus gallops out of the glass with a powerful nose of fragrant earth, wet soil, iron ore, and cigar box over a core of prunes, blackberry jam, and dried blackberries. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and fresh, with many earth and mineral-inspired layers framed by grainy tannins, and finishes with a lingering menthol touch. This wine is ideal for drinking now, but can last another 15-20 years."
