The history of Château Cantemerle dates back to the 12th century, when it was a medieval fortress belonging to the Villeneuve-Durfort family. Over the centuries, the estate has changed ownership several times, passing from the hands of the French nobility to those of middle-class families.Château Cantemerle's reputation as a producer of top-quality wines began to grow in the 19th century, thanks to the Dubos family's judicious management, which made major improvements to the vineyards and winemaking facilities.In addition, the estate benefited from the reputation of the Médoc's exceptional terroir, renowned for its fine, elegant red wines, particularly from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Today, Château Cantemerle covers around 87 hectares of vines, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines produced by Château Cantemerle are renowned for their elegance, balance and ageing potential. They embody the classic style of Médoc wines, with black fruit aromas, delicate tannins and remarkable structure.
