Geographical location: Northern Côtes du Rhône, right bank of the Rhône
Grape variety: Syrah
Terroir : Terraced hillside vineyards; granite soils
Climate : Continental with Mediterranean influence
Vinification : Manual harvest. Selection of old vines and hillsides showcasing the appellation. Traditional maceration in concrete vats at 28°C; regular pumping over with the use of a marc sprinkler or punching down. Hot maceration (30°C) for 2 weeks. Regular tastings to decide on the date of hot run-off, under wood, before malolactic fermentation in barrel.
Aging: In 400L barrels of different ages (35% new, 41% two wines and 24% three wines) for 12 months.
Tasting notes: Colour: Intense and deep with ruby hues. Rich aromas of ripe fruit, stone fruit and liquorice with the typical freshness of the appellation. In the mouth: We find notes of graphite and the characteristic freshness of the granite terroir. The tannins are fine. Black cherry and white pepper, typical aromas of Syrah, complete the aromatic palette of this very elegant wine which will reveal itself over the years.
