- Pol Roger Rosé Champagne is made from a blend of several grape varieties, including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown in carefully selected vineyards. It's important to note that unlike many rosé champagnes, Pol Roger uses the traditional winemaking method known as "saignée". This method consists of letting the grape juice macerate briefly with the grape skins to obtain a light pinkish color before fermentation.
- The result is a rosé champagne of exceptional elegance. It has a beautiful salmon-pink color, often with coppery highlights. The nose reveals a refined bouquet of red fruit aromas, such as strawberry, raspberry and cherry, as well as delicate floral notes.
- On the palate, Champagne Pol Roger Rosé offers a creamy texture and delicate effervescence. Red fruit flavors mingle harmoniously with notes of brioche and toast, adding complexity and depth. The finish is long, refreshing and subtly spicy.
This rosé champagne is often considered one of the best in its category. It has received high praise from champagne experts and connoisseurs the world over. Pol Roger himself was Winston Churchill's favorite champagne, who described it as "the nectar of the gods".
