Volnay 1er Les Caillerets 1997 - Charles Noellat
Charles Noellat
Produced by a historic, prestigious estate in the Côte de Nuits, the Volnay Village from Domaine (or Maison) Charles Noëllat celebrates Burgundian craftsmanship, drawing from one of the most refined terroirs in the Côte de Beaune. A pure expression of Pinot Noir, this wine is distinguished by the delicacy and lusciousness characteristic of its appellation: its brilliant ruby hue gives way to an alluring aromatic bouquet dominated by fresh red fruits—such as cherry and raspberry—along with hints of violet and, as it ages, subtle notes of sweet spice or forest floor. On the palate, it reveals an elegant, feminine structure, underscored by a lovely mineral freshness and silky, well-integrated tannins. This makes it an ideal pairing for roasted poultry, white meat served with a mushroom sauce, or a mild, soft-ripened cheese.
