Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown on March 14, 2019: "Pale to medium gold in color, the 2009 d'Yquem bursts from the glass with gregarious scents of creme caramel, allspice, dried apricots, tangerine peel, and pineapple upside-down cake, plus a fragrant undercurrent of mushrooms, acacia honey, candied ginger, musk perfume, and frangipani.
Full-bodied and hedonistic on the palate, the rich, tight layers are still surprisingly youthful, with citrus sparks and an incredibly long, perfumed finish. With 157 grams per liter of residual sugar and 13.6% alcohol, and a laser-like line of freshness, this wine's rock-solid structure and opulence are simply breathtaking. Pure perfection."
