Clos des Papes 2011
Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Clos des Papes
96/100 Parker
Clos des Papes 2011 is one of the great wines of the vintage, rated 96/100 by Jeb Dunnuck. Produced from very low yields (18 hl/ha), this Châteauneuf-du-Pape seduces with its controlled power and remarkable balance. It develops intense aromas of kirsch, ground pepper, dried flowers and undergrowth. Full-bodied and silky on the palate, with great concentration on the mid-palate, exceptionally fine tannins and good length. More accessible young than the estate's classic vintages, it will nevertheless evolve in the cellar until 2030. As always, the wine is a blend dominated by Grenache (65%), complemented by Mourvèdre, Syrah and rare varieties such as Vaccarèse, Counoise and Muscardin. No new barrels are used, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Tasting advice
Serving temperature: 15°-16°. You can decant them but it is not necessary to do it 2 hours before because it is always interesting to appreciate the evolution in the glass.
