The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Clos des Papes is exceptionally refined, releasing a captivating bouquet of ripe red fruits, iris, black cherries, mint, blood orange, and flowers in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, it is rich, textured, and denser than usual, with a strong body and a fleshy, luscious fruity center. The finish, airy, saline, and light, gives this wine an almost ethereal character. A strong contender for Wine of the Year, it should evolve elegantly over time and reach the potential for a perfect score.
A powerful and refined 2023 vintage from Clos des Papes, which produces a cuvée of great precision. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape red combines impressive volume, a silky texture, and aromatic elegance.
