‘Another resounding success of the vintage, the opaque purple-coloured Clinet 2008 (14.4% alcohol) is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields of 38 hectolitres per hectare, although higher than in 2010, remain modest. The 2008 has an inky-purple colour and sweet notes of crème de cassis, blackberry, plum, Asian spices, liquorice and incense. ’
