Clos de L'Oratoire 2014
Grand cru classé de St Emilion
93/100 James Suckling
The 2014 Clos de l’Oratoire, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé by Stephan von Neipperg, expresses all the refinement of the clay-limestone terroirs of the right bank. Composed mainly of Merlot (90%) supplemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it seduces with its intense nose of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and smoky notes. On the palate, the texture is silky, ample and perfectly balanced, supported by a fine tannic structure and a beautiful mineral freshness. An elegant vintage, already very accessible, but promised to evolve beautifully in the cellar over 10 to 15 years.
