Superb nose of fresh blackberry, enhanced by notes of mushroom and wild flowers. On the palate, the wine displays beautiful structure, supported by fine tannins that give it precision and balance. The finish is fresh, vibrant, and racy. A cuvée with remarkable typicity, to be enjoyed from 2027 onwards to appreciate its full finesse.
- Presentation of Clos René: Here is a very beautiful red wine from Pomerol! It is produced from a vineyard of 15 ha, with vines that are on average 35 years old. The terroir has soils made up of gravel and sand with a subsoil of iron filth.
- Grape varieties: There are 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Franc.
- Maturing : Aged in oak barrels for 18 months.
- Tasting notes of the 2016 vintage: A subtle nose followed by a mouth that offers light tannins and notes of forest fruits with notably blackberry and blueberry. A magnificent finish with a woody style and truffle.
- Food and wine pairing : This superb wine will be perfect as an aperitif or with a dinner composed of beef fillet, pork in sauce, lamb mouse, a nice piece of red meat such as a grilled entrecote or duck confit.
