"The 2020 vintage of Les Laquets is showing its best today, offering aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, dark forest fruits, and spices, mingled with notes of pencil lead. Beautifully structured, both ample and complex, this wine is round and seductive, with a firm tannic structure – likely due to its recent bottling – which evolves into a long, mineral finish with a hint of pencil lead. With three to five years of aging, its tannic structure should harmonize, allowing the wine to reach even greater refinement." Yohan Castaing
Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve was founded in 1999 by Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve. Spanning 26 hectares, the estate is renowned for producing wines of great intensity, depth, and elegance. This estate is among the most prestigious in the Cahors appellation thanks to its exceptional heritage of old, massal-selected vines and meticulous viticulture. Their winemaking approach includes cold pre-fermentation, gentle extraction, and fermentation in open concrete vats, combined with extended aging in barrels to soften the powerful tannins of the Malbec. The vineyard is certified biodynamic by Demeter.
