Le Haut Lieu 2022 Moelleux 1ère Trie - Domaine Huet
(Le Haut Lieu 2022 Sweet Wine First Harvest – Domaine Huet)
Vouvray moelleux - Domaine Huet
Cellaring : 2026 - 2055
Domaine Huet's Le Haut Lieu Moelleux Première Trie is a sweet wine produced in Vouvray from Chenin Blanc grapes. The term Première Trie indicates a rigorous selection of the ripest bunches or those affected by botrytis cinerea, resulting in a high concentration of natural sugars. The deep, clay-limestone soil of the Le Haut-Lieu plot imparts great complexity and a characteristic minerality to the wine.
Recent vintages demonstrate consistently high quality. The 2022 stands out for its balance of sweetness and acidity, with aromas of ripe fruit, floral and mineral notes, and an aging potential exceeding 25 years. The 2020 offers a vibrant aromatic profile of candied citrus and fig, with lovely freshness, while the 2018 presents a still youthful but promising palate, with fruity and exotic notes. The more mature 2015 reveals remarkable density and finesse and is now at its ideal stage of development.
These wines pair perfectly with dishes such as foie gras, blue cheeses, candied fruit desserts, or sweet and savory dishes. Their lively acidity ensures exceptional aging potential, allowing each vintage to develop aromatic complexity over several decades. Recent vintages of Haut Lieu Moelleux Première Trie thus confirm Domaine Huet's reputation for its great sweet Loire wines.
