The Rhône Valley estateDomaine Lombard has established itself as a major player in the revival of Brézème, a little-known terroir located in Livron-sur-Drôme, on the border between the northern and southern Rhône. Founded in the early 1980s, the estate has played a significant role in bringing this appellation back into the spotlight after it was forgotten following the phylloxera crisis. Now managed with a modern and ambitious vision, Lombard cultivates 23 hectares using organic and biodynamic methods, with an approach focused on living organisms, freshness, and the pure expression of the terroir.

The Brézème appellation remains one of the Rhône Valley's best-kept secrets. Nestled on south-facing limestone slopes, this tiny vineyard—barely thirty hectares—benefits from a unique climate, swept by the Mistral wind and characterized by significant temperature variations. This unique situation gives rise to wines that are both sun-drenched and taut, where the Syrah develops a particularly fresh and spicy expression, while the whites reveal a superb minerality sometimes reminiscent of certain great northern or Burgundian wines.
At Lombard, each cuvée translates this Rhône identity with a contemporary interpretation: precise aging, a quest for balance, refined textures, and a strong mineral character. The range oscillates between signature cuvées faithful to the terroir and more ambitious interpretations, always guided by this desire to produce "wines in motion," vibrant and profoundly alive.
