Macon Chaintré - Maison Valette
This estate has been committed to organic viticulture for over 20 years. Located in Chaintré, on the border between the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, it extends over 8.5 hectares planted exclusively with Chardonnay. The Chaintré Mâcon, made by Cécile and Philippe from Maison Valette in Burgundy, is a blend of three vintages: 2018, 2019 and 2021. The grapes, grown on clay-limestone soils, are matured for a year in oak barrels, then refined in stainless steel vats before bottling. The nose is intense and smoky, with a refined elegance. On the palate, this Chaintré is distinguished by its precision and minerality, with notes of flint and a touch of salt. The lemony acidity makes it incredibly refreshing and lingering on the palate. A big well done to the winemakers for this marvellous cuvée, which is simply delicious! Grape variety: Chardonnay.
