- Soil : Clay and limestone, very deep, slightly marly.
- Geographical situation : Clos located in the North of the Cote de Nuits, in the neighbouring village of Gevrey Chambertin, plot with a gentle slope of 20%, facing East. Height : 320 m
- Average yield over 5 years : 31 hl/Ha
- Number of bottles : 8000 Blles
- Vineyard management : Working the soil, partial weeding, integrated pest management, leaf thinning, manual harvesting, sorting on the vine before harvesting (verjuice, damaged grapes, etc.)
- Vinification: Severe sorting in the vat house, vatting of whole grapes destemmed by gravity. Enzyming, yeasting, cold pre-fermentation maceration for one week, daily punching down, final hot maceration.
- Aging: 12 months in oak barrels, 1/3 of which are new, malolactic fermentation in barrels, then blending in stainless steel tanks for 3 months. Light filtration 5 microns to bring more brilliance and aromatic purity.
- Bottling: At the Domaine, in a traditional bottle with a cork stopper.
- Tasting: Deep colour, black cherry, complex nose, subtle aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry...), truffles and liquorice. With ageing, aromas of fur, musk, and even wildness. Frank attack in mouth, power, fatness, very present but fine tannins, beautiful length.
- Wine and food pairing : Game, red meat in sauce, spicy food, strong cheese.
- Serving temperature: 16° C
- Best drunk now: 7 to 12 years, a wine for laying down
