St Joseph Red le Clos de la Ribaudy 2021 - Domaine Barge
From the Domaine Barge - Gilles, Alice and Julien Barge
Opinion on the 2021 vintage: A beautiful year which offers a very greedy wine.
The vintage : Very old vineyard, a limited production. 1 hectare of walled vineyards, isolated on the heights of Chavanay at a place called La Ribaudy.
When to drink this wine : 2024 to 2033. Great ageing potential.
Tasting notes: The impressive Saint Joseph Clos de la Ribaudy comes from a single hectare planted on granite soils. In style, it is a mini-Côte Rôtie: it has an elusive mix of floral-herbaceous notes with cherries and raspberries. It is powerful but not heavy. It is, instead, rich, silky and complex, with a long finish of roses and tea."
