PRESENTATION
Bandol red wine is made from several grape varieties, each of which brings its own personality to the wine. Grenache brings a fruity touch, Cinsault contributes finesse, Carignan gives acidity and Mourvèdre provides structure and backbone. All these vines are between 40 and 60 years old. All these grape varieties are blended together to create a harmonious wine. Made with indigenous yeasts, this wine is neither filtered nor fined.
WHAT THE DOMAINE HAS TO SAY :
BLENDING AND VINIFICATION
- This wine is the fruit of several grape varieties, each of which contributes a part of its personality to the wine:
- Grenache brings a fruity touch, Cinsault contributes finesse, Carignan lends acidity, while Mourvèdre provides structure and backbone.
- Together, these grape varieties create the overall harmony of Bandol rouge.
- The vines are between 40 and 60 years old.
- Each plot is harvested by hand, then vinified separately in vats, without the addition of yeast, since the grapes naturally contain yeast on the skin: the pruin.
REFINEMENT
- Once fermentation is complete, the wines are placed in our foudres (large 25 to 60 HL barrels) for 18 months.
- Bottling takes place at the winery, in a single operation, so you can be sure of the same wine, from the first to the last bottle.
- The wine is not filtered, as we want to retain all the fruit aromas, although a slight deposit may occur after a few years, a sign of the naturalness of these wines.
- Made with indigenous yeasts, this wine is neither filtered nor fined.
