- TASTING NOTE: The black/purple-colored 1992 provides evidence that Gruaud-Larose may have returned to the energetic, robust, muscular style for which the estate is known. In general, the 1992 vintage has not produced great, rich wines, but this effort from Gruaud-Larose is a reassuringly big, dense, powerful, rich, and thick wine. The 1992 is made cleaner than the 1991, more leathery and marked by earthy, rich, peppery, cassis, and herbal flavors, low acidity, and a thick, chewy, lush finish. The wine's tannin is noticeable, but well-integrated, making this wine attractive today.
- Grape varieties: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot.
