Tasting notes: Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot enjoys a south-easterly exposure on a mid-slope. ‘Morgeot’ is a hamlet in Chassagne-Montrachet where vines have been cultivated since the 15th century, thanks to the initiative of the Abbé de Maizières. The red wines of Morgeot, although sometimes a little firm when young, reveal their full potential with age. This cru, Jean-Marc Pillot's most robust, combines power and elegance with a unique signature. The fruit is dense and the tannins, though present, are silky... a real delight.
