Tasting:
Château Larmande is a red wine produced in the Saint-Émilion region:
- Château Larmande is generally classified as a classic style Bordeaux wine. It is made mainly from Merlot grape varieties, with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. When tasting this wine, you can expect aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as black cherry, plum and blackcurrant. It can also feature notes of vanilla, sweet spices and sometimes a touch of tobacco or leather. On the palate, it is often fleshy, with soft tannins, balanced acidity and an elegant finish.
- Grape variety: Château Larmande is primarily made from the Merlot grape variety, which generally makes up more than 80% of the blend. Cabernet Franc is used in small quantities to bring structure and complexity to the wine.
Food and wine pairings:
Like many Bordeaux wines, Château Larmande is an excellent companion for many dishes:
- Grilled or roasted red meats: Château Larmande goes perfectly with steaks, roast lamb and meat dishes with sauce.
- Cheeses: Try it with soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, as well as hard cheeses like Cheddar.
- Mushroom dishes: Due to its red fruit notes and texture, this wine can be excellent with mushroom dishes, such as mushroom risottos or mushroom casseroles.
- Poultry dishes: It can also pair well with poultry dishes, especially those prepared with red wine-based sauces.
Operating temperature :
Château Larmande is generally served at a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius (61 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit). This allows the aromas and flavors of the wine to be fully expressed without the wine being too hot. If the wine is too cold, the flavors may be muted, so it is best to let it sit for a few minutes after removing it from the refrigerator before enjoying it.
