Chinon 2019 La Diablesse - Château de Coulaine
Famille Denys de Bonnaventure - Chinon
- Score : 93/100 Parker
- Cellaring : 2025 - 2040
- Tasting by Stephan Reinhardt on August 5, 2021 : "Made from grapes grown in Beaumont en Véron on the so-called Picasse terroir on pure clay-limestone soils, the 2019 Chinon La Diablesse rests on the fruit of 80-year-old vines. Naturally fermented in concrete and aged in 400 litre barrels for 11 months before bottling, the unified, unfiltered red opens with a pure, intense and elegant nose with aromas of perfectly ripe elderberry. Silky, crystalline, fresh and extremely vital, this is a full-bodied, intense and elegant Chinon from a 0.8 hectare plot. The wine has plenty of energy and tension but needs a few years to show its class, which is not based on power and intensity but on freshness and purity of fruit."
- Terroir : Clay-limestone terroir of old vines. This cuvée is a selection from a single plot of old vines between 50 and 110 years old. The particularity of this terroir is its clay-limestone soil, on a north-facing slope.
- Pairings : To be served with poultry and fish.
