Product description

Meursault 2018 - Bouchard Père et Fils

Great wine of Bourgogne

• (89-91)/100 Parker

- By William Kelley in 2020: "Incorporating wine from a number of superior lieux-dits, including even Le Tesson, Bouchard's 2018 Meursault Village floats in the glass with aromas of fresh pear, peach and hazelnut. On the palate, it is textured, with fine concentration, racy acidity and a long, elegantly chalky finish."

- Would you like to taste this cuvée?

- It has a very aromatic bouquet with fruity and floral notes. The palate is also full of flavours, revealing a rich and mellow wine without any crudeness or heaviness. Very good ageing potential.

- What to drink with a Meursault from Domaine Bouchard?

- Enjoy it with shellfish, grilled fish, fish in sauce, or possibly poultry in cream sauce.

- How to serve it ?

- This wine is best served at a temperature between 12°C and 14°C. Decant it in its early years!

- When to drink a Meursault from Bouchard Père et Fils?

- In the great vintages, don't hesitate to keep it for 5 years in the cellar before drinking it. It can be kept for 10 to 15 years in the best years. If you wish to drink it young, don't hesitate to air it well beforehand.

- How does the winemaker work this wine?

- The grapes are harvested by hand with small boxes of 13 kg. The estate carries out a regular, serious and careful sorting of each bunch.

Concerning the vinification, the pressing takes place in two phases: evacuation of the first juices, then pressing in 2-hour cycles.

The wines are aged for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels, up to 10% new barrels depending on the vintage, then 2 to 3 months in stainless steel tanks.
