Vigne de l'enfant Jesus 2017 Beaune-Greves 1er Cru - Bouchard Pere & Fils
The name "Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus" refers to a historical anecdote. It is said that Marguerite du Saint-Sacrement, Carmelite founder of the Domestiques de la famille du Saint Enfant Jésus, predicted the birth of the French King Louis XIV when his mother Anne of Austria was sterile. At the birth of the future Roi Soleil, this exceptional vineyard belonging to the Carmelites took the name of "Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus". In 1791, at the time of the sale of the national property, the Maison Bouchard Père & Fils acquired the parcel, located in the heart of the 32 hectares of the Beaune Grèves appellation. It still has a monopoly today.
