'There are three bottlings of the 2017 Château Chalon, the same wine bottled at different times, so they are slightly different wines because even if it was the same base wine, they aged in different barrels. They didn't have hail or frost in 2017, it was fresh during the harvest and it rained a little; Laurent Macle compared it with 2012, perhaps. The lots showed slight differences that might be too obscure for most people, so I just focused on the commonalities of the wines, which are still very young and subtle, with a salty twist and hints of curry, morel mushrooms, lanolin, iodine and nuts. They all have a velvety mouthfeel and are textured, dense and round, with 14.8% alcohol but great balance, pungent flavors and very good length and persistence. The different lots are marked L01, L02 and L03 on the left corner of the labels, bottled in April 2025, June 2025 and January 2026, respectively, just for you to know in case you run into one bottle.'
