Savigny Lès Beaune 2021 - Bouchard Pere & Fils
The Savigny-lès-Beaune from Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils is a magnificent illustration of the expertise of one of Burgundy's oldest and most prestigious wine houses. Located in the Savigny-lès-Beaune appellation, just north of Beaune, this red wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir. The estate cultivates ideally situated plots, benefiting from a clay-limestone terroir that gives the wine a structure that is both refined and assertive, typical of the Côte de Beaune.
On the nose and palate, this cuvée is distinguished by its elegance and lusciousness. It unfolds a seductive aromatic bouquet, dominated by notes of small red (cherry, raspberry) and black fruits, often complemented by subtle spicy and woody touches enhanced by careful aging in oak barrels. On the palate, the tannins are generally supple and well-integrated, offering a silky texture and a lovely freshness that lingers on a harmonious finish.
This wine, both approachable in its youth and possessing good aging potential (often 5 to 7 years, or even longer depending on the vintage), is an ideal companion to the table.
