Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2015
Grand cru classé de Graves
100/100 James Suckling & 98/100 Robert Parker
Cellaring: 2024 - 2055
Tasted on February 21, 2018 : "The deep garnet-purple-colored 2015 vintage is a blend of 58% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Muted in its youth, with bright notions of red currant, black raspberry, cassis, and freshly crushed blackberry, it slowly unfolds to reveal an earthy/mineral undercurrent of damp earth, charcoal, iron ore, and truffle, plus a blast of violets. Fruity yet wonderfully elegant with very ripe and silky tannins, a freshness that stays well in the background and an almost electric intensity of vibrant red and black fruit flavours, it finishes long and mineral. Just right. Gorgeous. Consider giving it 6-7 years in bottle before approaching it and drink it over the next 30+ years."
