• Stephan Reinhardt's tasting in 2021: "From a south-facing hillside in Saint Aubin de Luigne, where the vines are rooted in shallow sandstone schist soils with carboniferous parent rock, the golden-coloured Coteaux du Layon Les Bruandières 2018, is a Chenin liquoreux that opens with a rich, concentrated bouquet that is clear, elegant and very attractive, with aromas of perfectly ripe, stewed stone fruit, interwoven with hints of flint and well-integrated woody and toasty tones. On the palate, this is a sweet Chenin du Layon, full-bodied, rich, very sweet but fine and elegant, very intense. The wine would be too sweet and too soft without this spectacular terroir, which elevates even a Beerenauslese style like this. Salinity mingles with tannic structure, giving the 2018 excellent ageing potential. It's a dessert on its own, but could also go very well with an apricot tart. 11% alcohol. "

• Coteaux des Bruandières enjoys an ancestral reputation, even being considered on a par with Quarts de Chaume in the 19th century. It was thanks to the Bruandières legacy that the family became part of the Coteaux du Layon at the beginning of the 20th century.
