Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2021: "Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Lagrange explodes in the glass with explosive notes of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered cherries and baked red and black plums, with suggestions of rose oil, cedar chest, pencil lead and hoisin. The palate is quite full-bodied and fantastically lively given its ripeness. It's packed with juicy black fruit and irresistible tension, supported by a finely grained texture, and finishes on a lingering mineral note. Well done!"
SERVICE
When it comes to serving Château Lagrange 2018, we recommend decanting before serving to allow the wine to air out and fully express its aromas. You can do this by opening the bottle about an hour before tasting and pouring it gently into a decanter. This will allow the wine to rid itself of excess oxygen and gradually open up.
