Cellaring potential: 2024 - 2040
"The 2018 Pur Oger Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, produced in a limited edition of only 2,000 bottles, reveals aromas of white flowers, lemon oil, blanched almonds, and ripe orchard fruits on the nose. Beautifully full-bodied, fleshy, and enveloping, it is perfectly balanced, with a vinous texture and a long, saline finish. Vinified in stainless steel tanks, it was aged under cork and disgorged with a dosage of 4.1 grams per liter. While the 2013 and 2017 vintages were not produced, the 2018 vintage testifies to the exceptional expertise that characterizes this outstanding cuvée."

The Champagne Franck Bonville Pur Oger 2018 is a refined, single-vineyard expression from the Franck Bonville house, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes and the Grand Cru terroir of Oger. The 2018 vintage was distinguished by excellent weather conditions : a mild spring followed by a hot, dry summer : which allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. This wine comes from two emblematic parcels, "Les Noyerots" and "Les Rumigny," which benefit from the rich limestone soils typical of Oger. Vinification includes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for over five years under cork in the house's cellars, allowing the wine to develop a beautiful aromatic complexity. The dosage is particularly well-controlled: around 4.2 g/L, which places it in the Extra Brut category and accentuates its tension and freshness.
On tasting, Pur Oger 2018 offers a pale yellow color with golden highlights and an elegant, persistent mousse. The nose opens with aromas of white flowers, ripe lemon, and green apple, to which toasty and slightly licorice notes emerge with aeration. On the palate, the attack is supple and smooth, quickly giving way to a taut, mineral structure: flavors of candied lemon, white peach, and pear are combined with a silky texture and a deep, saline finish, a signature of the Oger terroir. The alcohol content is around 12.5%. This champagne is equally suited to an exceptional aperitif or a delicate gastronomic dish, such as fine shellfish, fish in a light sauce, or even fine poultry. Its aging potential is remarkable: between 10 and 15 years, or even longer under optimal conditions.
