A Story of Family and Passion

The story begins in the heart of Avize, when the Bonville family acquired their first winegrower's house. After the Second World War, Franck Bonville expanded the estate and produced the first cuvées under his own name. His son Gilles modernized the facilities in the 1970s, and today, Olivier Bonville, along with his son-in-law Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel, continues the adventure with the same commitment to quality.

The estate spans approximately fifteen hectares spread across 77 parcels located in the three Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. These prestigious terroirs yield grapes of exceptional purity, giving rise to champagnes of remarkable precision and finesse.

Terroir, Expertise, and Elegance

The Franck Bonville estate is dedicated exclusively to the Chardonnay grape, the emblem of the Côte des Blancs. The chalky soils of these slopes impart freshness, mineral tension, and natural elegance to the wines. The Bonville family has always sought to express the identity of the terroir above all else, favoring precise winemaking and extended aging on the lees to develop aromatic complexity.

 

Committed to a strong environmental approach, the estate has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) since 2016 and has been working for several years in the spirit of organic viticulture, without being officially certified. This respectful approach to living organisms and the soil helps preserve the richness of the terroir and guarantees wines of exemplary authenticity.

 

The estate's flagship wines: The Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs embodies the Franck Bonville signature: purity, freshness, and finesse. A blend of several vintages primarily from Avize and Oger, it captivates with its notes of white flowers, citrus, and brioche, with a taut and balanced palate. The Pur Terroir range (Pur Avize, Pur Oger, and Pur Mesnil) highlights the unique character of each Grand Cru village within the estate. Each cuvée reveals a subtle interpretation of its origin: tension and crystalline freshness for Avize, roundness and power for Oger, and chalky purity and length for Mesnil-sur-Oger. These single-vineyard Champagnes will delight connoisseurs of precise terroirs and collectors alike.

 

Finally, the Les Belles Voyes cuvée represents the jewel of the estate. Made from a single plot in Oger planted in 1960, it is distinguished by its depth, silky texture, and incredible aromatic complexity. A true expression of Grand Cru Chardonnay in all its nobility, it is a rare and sought-after gastronomic Champagne.
