"This wine displays excellent concentration and power, with aromas of smoky almonds, pears, nutmeg, and white flowers. Dry and mineral, it offers remarkable texture and density. Slightly saline finish. Dosage: 1.7 g/L. Disgorged in November 2024. Drink now or cellar."

The Franck Bonville Pur Avize 2018 is the pure and refined expression of the Grand Cru terroir of Avize, crafted by Maison Franck Bonville exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Its grapes are sourced from three emblematic parcels: "Les Avats," "Les Maladries," and "Les Chapelles," located in the heart of the Grand Cru village of Avize, on the prestigious Côte des Blancs. The 2018 vintage, marked by a mild spring followed by a hot and sunny summer, allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness, giving this cuvée excellent aromatic structure and very good aging potential.
Technically, this 2018 Blanc de Blancs is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with malolactic fermentation, then aged for more than five years under cork before release. The dosage is extra-brut, at approximately 3.3g/L, which gives the wine exceptional purity, remarkable tension, and a very fine mineral elegance. The alcohol content is approximately 12.5% vol.
On the nose, one discovers a pale yellow color enlivened by fine and persistent bubbles, accompanied by delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh citrus, and green apple, evolving towards nuances of lightly toasted brioche and almonds. On the palate, the texture is silky, the structure well-defined: the acidity is lively, the chalky minerality of the terroir is clearly perceptible, and the finish lingers with a vibrant, saline note. This cuvée is equally appealing as a high-end aperitif or with refined dishes; fine fish, delicate poultry, or even delicate cheeses. Thanks to its profile and extended aging, it can age for 10 to 15 years, or even longer in the cellar.
