Château Bel Air 1970

Pomerol

Château Bel-Air-Pomerol (often simply referred to as Château Bel-Air in Pomerol) is a historic, exclusive estate ideally situated on Bordeaux’s prestigious Right Bank. Its vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir characterized by gravel and black sand soils rich in *crasse de fer* (iron-rich pan)—a geological feature typical of the appellation that lends the wines their distinctive complexity. Planted primarily with Merlot, the estate produces limited-production wines that captivate with their natural elegance and velvety texture.

Over the years, this understated estate has maintained a classic, authentic identity, steering clear of the over-extraction found in certain modern styles. On the palate, it beautifully expresses the quintessential character of Pomerol, offering intense aromas of ripe black fruit and forest floor, alongside subtle truffle notes that develop magnificently with age. It is a harmonious, charming wine with excellent aging potential, sought after by enthusiasts for its consistency and outstanding value within this prestigious appellation.
