Beaune Bressandes 1er cru 2011 - Chanson
Chanson Père et fils
90/100 Parker
Cellaring : Now to 2025
Tasted by Neal Martin in 2014 : "The 2011 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes has a very detailed and refined bouquet with pure aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, freshly tilled earth and leaves - classic in terms of bouquet...very 2011. The palate is lively and fresh, with nice tension. The palate is lively and fresh, with nice tension. The wine is not as heavy as its peers, but it is nicely concentrated and long, with a fine spicy touch on the finish. This is a fine performance from Chanson."
Grape variety : Pinot Noir from a clonal selection planted in 1992.
Soil : Light clay and limestone soil, resting on the mother rock.
Location : This vineyard of 2 hectares is located at the end of a combe exposed to the North bringing an aromatic freshness to this wine. On the upper part of the hillside and facing East. This climate takes its name from a Canon of Beaune who owned this vineyard in the 13th century, Jean Bressand.
Vintage 2011 : After a very cold winter, a warm and luminous spring, the mixed summer gave way at the beginning of September to a warm and luminous Indian summer. The harvest took place in mid-September in order to harvest grapes at full maturity. Careful vinification and maturation allowed us to extract a beautiful substance from the Pinot Noirs which impress by the finesse of their tannins and their fleshy texture. Aged in oak barrels for 19 months.
Tasting: Deep ruby. Intense aromas of black currant and plum mixed with spices and vanilla. Complex and well balanced. Deep on a beautiful texture both firm and velvety. Well-integrated oak and fine tannins. Good persistence and elegance.
Food pairing : White meats, roasted meats, rack of lamb with herbs.
