Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières 2017 in Magnum - Bouchard Père et Fils
- In the past, the vines of this great Meursault must have been surrounded by juniper trees, whose name of the climate keeps the memory. This prestigious appellation was classified in "Tête de cuvée" as early as 1855 by Doctor Lavalle in his reference book "History and Statistics of the vine and the great wines of the Côte d'Or". At that time, we were not yet talking about we did not yet speak of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. The House of Bouchard Père & Fils owns 2.65 hectares of Meursault Genevrières, which are often which are often among the first parcels of Chardonnay harvested at the Domaine.
- TASTING NOTE: Subtle bouquet of fruit and flowers with hints of toast. Refined, full, without any heaviness, with that typical Genevrieres spring. Voluptuous wine. Good ageing potential.
- FOOD & WINE Pairings: Fish in sauce, foie gras.
- TEMPERATURE : Between 12°C and 14°C
- AGEING POTENTIAL : 5 to 7 years and more
- HARVESTING : By hand, in small boxes of 13 kg. Careful manual sorting of each bunch.
- VINIFICATION: Pressing takes place in two phases: evacuation of the first juices, then pressing in two-hour cycles.
- AGEING: 9 to 10 months in French oak barrels, with up to 15% new barrels depending on the vintage, then 3 to 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
- AGEING: The cellars of the Bastions of the old Château de Beaune offer natural
conditions perfectly suited to the ageing of Premiers Crus.
