Order wine : Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac 1964
Grand Cru Classé de St Emilion
This exceptional wine is a great gift idea for rare wine lovers and passionate connoisseurs.
How to serve it ?
First of all, uncork the bottle carefully and let the wine breathe. We recommend decanting an hour before tasting to allow its complex aromas to fully express themselves. Serve at an ideal temperature of 17-18°C in large red wine glasses, allowing the aromas to concentrate.
What does it taste like?
This wine reveals a deep ruby color, with slightly tiled nuances that testify to its venerable age. On the nose, prepare to be overwhelmed by bewitching aromas of stewed black fruit, prunes, leather, undergrowth and a subtle touch of truffle. On the palate, it's a veritable sensory voyage: a supple, elegant attack, silky, mellow tannins, perfectly integrated acidity that balances the flavors. The finish is long, with notes of cocoa, tobacco and a discreet but persistent minerality.
What are the grape varieties?
Grand Barrail Lamarzelle 1964 is made from the noble grape varieties that traditionally make up the great wines of Saint-Émilion. This vintage is mainly composed of Merlot, providing roundness and opulence, accompanied by Cabernet Franc, which adds structure and aromatic complexity.
