Saint Péray 2017 Fleur de Crussol - Alain Voge
This cuvée was created in 1999 by Alain Voge with the friendly help of the late Daniel Denis, sommelier from Lyon and great ambassador of the wines of the Rhone Valley. The Crussol massif, which gave its name to the cuvée, is very important for the AOC Saint-Péray because it provides the limestone elements that are essential for the production of great white wines.
TERROIR
The oldest vines on the estate and in the appellation are 80 years old and are located in the cradle of the appellation above the village of Saint-Péray.
This granitic hillside mixed with limestone colluviums faces south-east. It faces the Château de Crussol and the limestone massif of the same name.
2017 VINTAGE
A season in line with the standards of our terroirs, with favourable but rainy weather in the spring, forcing us to be very vigilant with regard to cryptogamic pressure. A fine summer and a very fine after-season followed, allowing the optimal ripeness of a rather abundant harvest. All in balance, the wines are full of elegance, while expressing the tipicality of both Cornas and Saint-Péray.
