Château Tertre Roteboeuf 2017
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru - From the estate
This beautiful bottle comes directly from the estate:
(96 - 98)/100 Parker
By Lisa Perrotti-Brown in April 2018: "Deep garnet-purple in colour, the 2017 Le Tertre Roteboeuf offers gorgeous notes of wild blueberries, black currants, and crushed gooseberries, with hints of lavender, violets, Sichuan pepper, and cloves, plus a blast of anise. The palate is very firm, with ripe, grainy tannins, wonderful freshness and depth, and finishes very long with some exotic spices."
The 2017 vintage: The positioning of François Mitjavile's vineyards on slopes meant that the impact of frosts in 2017 was avoided. The real challenge was the heavy rains three weeks before the harvest. "With this vintage, we really had to play with the rain," commented Mitjavile. "We had to harvest quickly to protect the freshness of the fruit."
