Château Trotanoy 2016
Pomerol
99/100 Parker & 98/100 James Suckling : great vintage
Cellaring: 2022 - 2055
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown on November 30, 2018: "Composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Trotanoy is characteristically a bit closed at this youthful stage, unfolding slowly to reveal compelling notions of chocolate-covered cherries, black raspberries and blackberries with hints of pencil lead, crushed rocks, underbrush and toast, plus a fragrant blast of star anise. The palate has a rock-solid frame, grainy tannins and an invigorating freshness that supports the dense, muscular fruit, and ends with a very long, mineral finish."
