Clos Saint Denis Grand Cru 2016 - Louis Jadot
Grande Maison de Bourgogne
93-95/100 Parker
Terroir and Origin
Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru – Louis Jadot comes from one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. This historic terroir rests on limestone and marl soils particularly well-suited to Pinot Noir. The ideal exposure of the vines and the fine soil allow for the production of wines of great elegance, renowned for their balance between power and refinement.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted to retain only the highest quality berries. Fermentation takes place in vats, with controlled maceration to extract color, aromas, and structure. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months, which imparts depth, complexity, and remarkable aging potential.
Style and Tasting Notes
This Grand Cru is distinguished by a complex bouquet blending black cherry, raspberry, and violet, accompanied by spicy and subtly woody notes. On the palate, it reveals a silky texture, fine tannins, and beautiful concentration, supported by great freshness. The long and harmonious finish confirms the noble character of this wine, ideal with refined meats, game, or gourmet dishes.
