The Story of the Cuvée
Planted in 1989 following an inspired exchange with a winemaker friend from Burgundy (as the Muschelkalk limestone soil bears similarities to the Burgundian Bajocian), the Chardonnay finds a unique balance in the Clos Windsbuhl. The late-ripening climate of this high-altitude terroir allows for slow maturation while preserving magnificent acidity.
Tasting Notes (January 2026)
Appearance: A beautiful, brilliant yellow hue.
Nose: Initially marked by its long aging on lees, it opens up quickly after aeration (decanting) to release complex aromas of honey, beeswax, and citrus fruits. Palate: Intense, elegant, and silky in texture. It combines power and poise, supported by a moderate alcohol level.
A fine wine with excellent aging potential—true to the exacting standards of the Windsbuhl terroir—that will require some time to reveal its full complexity.
